The challenge
Their fleet operates over a huge area and uses tablets to receive job assignments. But they faced connectivity issues due to a single network SIM. Poor signal in certain areas was causing delays and impacting business operations. A major service outage meant they even lost comms with their drivers for 18 hours.
The solution
We delivered a tailored IoT and M2M connectivity solution, consisting of multi-network SIM cards. This ensured constant mobile signal for their tablets, irrespective of location, at no additional cost.
We labelled each SIM card for specific devices, streamlining the swap-over process. And we saved them hours of manual work by remotely updating the APN details on all tablets. We also tracked and located missing devices through our MDM platform during the rollout.
Because their tablets are in constant use we knew it would be difficult to find time for the transition. So our committed team went the extra mile and worked out of hours to make the changes on a Sunday morning, to avoid impacting the fleet’s work schedule.
The result
Now, thanks to our IoT and M2M connectivity solution with multi-network SIMs, the customer has a cost-effective solution on their current tariff. And they can scale up their services in remote areas. With zero signal worries.
